IPL 2020 Auction: 971 Players have registered for 73 Vacant Spots!

The VIVO IPL Player Registration closed on 30th November with 971 players signing up to be a part of the VIVO IPL 2020 Player Auction set to take place in Kolkata on 19th December 2019.  

73 Spots are up for grabs and franchise have to submit their shortlist of players until 5PM (December 9th) that will make the final Auction list.

Breakdown of Players registered are as follows:

  • Capped Indian (19 players)
  • Uncapped Indian (634 players)
  • Uncapped Indians who have played at least 1 IPL match (60 players)
  • Capped International (196 players)
  • Uncapped International (60 players)
  • Associate (2 players)

Among the foreign players most have come from Australia(55) and South Africa(54). While 39 Sri Lankan players, 34 West Indies Players, 24 players from New Zealand, 22 England players and 19 Afghani Players have registered as well.

There are only 6 players from Bangladesh, 3 from Zimbabwe and one each from Netherlands & USA.

Hugh Edmeades will once again be the Auctioneer.
